MELODY MOM X 21 GRAMS

As part of the team, I collaborated with fellow students to participate in the D&AD competition, where we conceived and developed “Melody Mom,” an innovative and impactful project.

A global survey of 26,399 people revealed that 71% of mums game and 48% identify as gamers. Additionally, up to 1 in 7 mothers experience postnatal depression (PND). Music therapy has been shown to reduce symptoms of depression and improve the quality of life for patients. Our idea was to create the first video game designed to relax both mums and their babies. 21 Grams supports the everyday lives of new mums by presenting a video game that produces soothing and pleasant sounds.

In the “Melody Mom” project, I had the pleasure of contributing to the idea’s conception and editing the final video, ensuring that the project’s message and aesthetic were effectively and engagingly conveyed. We aimed to strike the perfect balance between the game’s minimalist design and the precise intensity of its relaxing features — combining the sensitivity of new mothers with a unique graphic language.

Our work led to a significant achievement, with the project winning a Wooden Pencil at the 2023 D&AD New Blood Awards. This recognition stands as a testament to our commitment and creativity in creating a product that not only entertains but also provides real, tangible support to new mums.
